Dear planetarium operator,

Thank you for taking part in this survey. If you are here, you are an operator of a planetarium dome. You are central to the planetarium operation as a technician starting and stopping films, as an educator teaching astronomy concepts to school children, and/or as a volunteer explaining the night sky to the general public.

We are interested in researching the opportunities that a planetarium offers in educating or motivating children and the general public for science and astronomy. For this research it is important to get a clear view of who the operators are, what they do, how they interact with their audiences. This is the aim of this survey.
During the last 1 to 2 years many of you will have seen COVID-19 restrictions and the working of the planetarium will have been affected. Hence this survey concerns the working of the planetarium under normal circumstances.
We ask you to complete this survey honestly and as accurately as possible for a "normal" year.

The survey consists of several parts. Some questions are presented to everyone, other questions will only appear if you give specific answers to certain questions. Depending on your role at the planetarium the survey will take 30 minutes up to 1 hour to complete. This will become clear as you run through the survey.
The image below will presented to you at the start of each new section. Right now you are in the "Introduction".

Before we start there is one page informing you about your rights as a participant. Please read it carefully.

We thank you in advance for participating!

With kind regards,

The researchers (Jan Sermeus and Saeed Salimpour)
